Have mercy on me, O God, according
to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion
blot out my
transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.
For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me. Against
you, you only,
have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so
that you are proved right when you speak
and justified when you judge.
Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived
me. Surely you desire truth in the inner parts; you teach me wisdom in
the inmost place.
Cleanse me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash
me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
Let me hear joy and gladness; let
the bones you have crushed rejoice. Hide your face from my sins and
blot out all my iniquity. Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a
steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take
your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and
grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. Then I will teach
transgressors your ways,
and sinners will turn back to you. Save me
from bloodguilt, O God, the God who saves me, and my tongue will sing
of your righteousness. O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare
your praise. You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it; you
do not take pleasure in burnt offerings.
The sacrifices of God are a
broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not
despise.
Psalm 51:1-17
PROMISES OF FORGIVENESS
If we claim to be without sin, we
deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.
If we confess our sins,
he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and
purify us from
all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:8-9
But when the kindness and love of God our Saviour appeared, he saved
us,
not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his
mercy.
He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the
Holy Spirit,
whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ
our Saviour, so that,
having been justified by his grace, we might
become heirs having the hope of eternal life.
Titus 3:4-7
Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God
who justifies.
Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died- more
than that, who was raised to life-
is at the right hand of God and is
also interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love
of Christ?
Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or
danger or sword?
As it is written:For your sake we face death all day
long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered. No, in all these
things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
For I am
convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,
neither the present
nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor
depth, nor anything else in all creation,
will be able to separate us
from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:33-39
May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through
and through.
May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at
the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The one who calls you is faithful
and he will do it.
1 Thessalonians 5:23-24
To him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before
his glorious presence
without fault and with great joy- to the only God
our Saviour be glory, majesty, power and
authority, through Jesus
Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and for evermore! Amen.
Jude 24-25

For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
