I will pray without ceasing
For it keeps me ever focused on you.
I will pray without ceasing
For I know your promises are true
I will pray without ceasing
For everything, all my burdens, fears and concerns
have I given to you
I will pray without ceasing
For protection, guidance, strength, all that I need of you.
I will pray without ceasing,
All my love, my heart, I give to you.
I will pray without ceasing,
For all the things you have seen me through..
Finally, I will pray without ceasing,
For I know I can always depend on you.
I love you Lord
AMEN
Bahrain Sue on 1 Thessalonians 5:17
God,
thank You for giving me another day.
Let me face my troubles today
-the big and the small -
with a happy heart
filled with Your unending love.
Let me appreciate the moments of joy
You send me this day.
Let me see the cares of others
as an opportunity to bring
Your great compassion to those who most need it.
And God, I know that You see and know all things
- all of the world's loveliness, and all of its harshness, too.
So on this day that You have given me,
I ask that I may bring Your joy with me
as I share myself with others.
And I pray that You will be warmed
by the happiness of Your children.
Finally, God, let me never forget
that in all things, in gladness or sorrow,
You who are all love and joy and hope
are always by my side.
Amen. The Christophers
THE DIFFERENCE
listen to the MP3 recording of "The Difference":
I got up early one morning
and rushed right into the day;
I had so much to accomplish,
I didn't have time to pray.
Problems just tumbled about me,
and heavier came each task.
Why doesn't God help me? I wondered,
He answered, "You didn't ask."
I wanted to see joy and beauty,
but the day toiled on, gray and bleak.
I wondered why God didn't show me,
He said, "But you didn't seek."
I tried to come into God's presence,
I used all my keys at the lock.
God gently and lovingly chided,
"My child, you didn't knock."
I woke up early this morning,
and paused before entering the day.
I had so much to accomplish
That I had to take time to pray. Grace L. Naessens
Into Your Presence
I know the way into your presence, Father.
It is through Jesus alone.
He is the Way, the Truth and the Life.
There is no way for me to reach
the Father, but through Him.
In Jesus, I have a perfect revelation of
You, Father.
Through Him, I both see and know your heart, God.
If I
ever wonder what You think of me,
I can look to Jesus and all of my
wondering will be laid to rest. (John 14:6)
A Prayer for Hope
God, Sometimes this world is hard to understand. And even when we trust you, our hearts still ache. So we come to you today asking for the hope we need. Hope that sees past the here-and-now to the then-and-there. Hope that believes what we cannot yet glimpse. Hope that holds our hearts up in the moments when life brings us to our knees. You are the only One who can sustain us. You are the only One who can save us. Be the rescuer of our souls, the deliverer of our dreams, the holder of our hearts. We believe that even the darkest night must lead to dawn. We wait with expectation. Give us courage. Surround us with comfort. Love us through to the other side in the way only you can. We put our hope, and our hopes for those we love, in you. Amen.
I am full of wishes,
full of desires,
full of expectations.
Some of them may be realized, many may not,
but in the midst of all my satisfactions
and disappointments,
I hope in you.
I know that you will never leave me alone
and will fulfill your divine promises.
Even when it seems that things are not going my way,
I know that they are going your way
and that in the end your way is the
best way for me.
O Lord, strengthen my hope,
especially when my many wishes are not fulfilled.
