GOD KNOWS
When you are tired and discouraged from fruitless efforts...
God knows how hard you have tried.
When you've cried so long and your heart is in anguish...
God has counted your tears.
If you feel that your life is on hold and time has passed you by ...
God is waiting with you.
When you're lonely and your friends are too busy even for a phone call...
God is by your side.
When you think you've tried everything and don't know where to turn...
God has a solution.
When nothing makes sense and you are confused or frustrated...
God has the answer.
If suddenly your outlook is brighter and you find traces of hope ...
God has whispered to you.
When things are going well and you have much to be thankful for...
God has blessed you.
When something joyful happens and you are filled with awe...
God has smiled upon you.
When you have a purpose to fulfill and a dream to follow...
God has opened your eyes and called you by name.
Remember that wherever you are or whatever you are facing...
GOD KNOWS
I was there ... just for you
I was there on the day you were born,
and I gave you special gifts to last a lifetime.
I touched you, made you smile, helped you grow, and watched you take your first step.
I even reassured you that all would be okay when you lost your first tooth.
I saw you off on your first day of school ...
and lingered by your side the whole day.
I was there to console you every time you cried,
and I held you every time you fell and scraped your knees.
I was there every day all through the years, and I always strived to give you direction.
I helped you every step of the way into adulthood, bringing you daily gifts of inspiration,
hope, and love.
And I gave you trials so that you could grow into the warm and beautiful person you are ...
but I never abandoned you to them.
I've never, not for a single second, turned my back on you when you needed me -
even when you thought that you didn't need me.
I heard you every time you spoke, and I answered every prayer - though sometimes ...
for your best interest, I didn't answer them the way you hoped I would.
I'm still with you through your joys, your hopes, your tears, your dreams ...
through the bad days, the good days - through every day of your life.
And I will be there in the end to give you comfort and to see you safely home
where you'll sit beside me in all the glory of heaven.
- Love God
And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
Matthew 28:20
I hope you'll
remember today
that God is there,
giving you
His love and care.
He's lending you
His strength,
sending many blessings
your way,
and giving you the gift of
a bright new day.
Psalm 103
The Bible is full of verses that give us wings to fly from valleys of sorrow to heights of joy.
They fall like rain upon the parched soil of our souls.
Near the top of the list of such verses are these from Psalm 103:
The LORD is merciful and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
He will not always chide, nor will he keep his anger forever.
He does not deal with us according to our sins,
nor repay us according to our iniquities.
For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him;
as far as the east is from the west,
so far does he remove our transgressions from us.
As a father shows compassion to his children,
so the LORD shows compassion to those who fear him. (vv. 8-13).
If you are feeling especially downcast, add "me" or "to me" at the end of some of the phrases:
+The LORD is merciful and gracious TO ME...
+He will not always chide ME...
+The LORD shows compassion to those who fear him, TΟ ΜΕ...
Or, turn them into an explicit prayer:
Thank you, LORD, for being merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
I praise you for not always chiding, nor keeping your anger forever.
You do not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities, etc.
Whether you personalize these words, turn them into an explicit prayer,
or simply let them stand as they are, savor these promises from God.
No darkness can dim the brilliant light that beams from these powerful words.
